I've noticed that if I have a breakfast with quinoa I'm energized without getting hungry all through the morning and into the late afternoon.
A simple breakfast is to use it like oats and add some fruits and nuts to balance it out. Quinoa has a slight flavor that easily absorbs whatever you cook with it. So a handful of berries, or a banana, works really well.
For one serving, personally I'm perfecting something in the neighborhood of:
1/3 cup of dry quinoa
1 cup of water
1/2 cup of blueberries, fresh or frozen
1/4 cup of walnuts, chopped or crushed halves
Bring the water to a boil and throw in everything. Ten minutes later and you've got a hot, healthy, and filling start to your day.
I like blueberries but I think any fruit could work well. If you find it's a bit tart, use a teaspoon of sugar or honey if absolutely needed.
